Brett Rufkahr


Even prior to college, Brett has had an intense interest in financial markets and the securities that trade in them.  Engaging this passion for markets, Brett has worked since 1986 assisting wealthy families, individual investors, and non-profit institutions to successfully achieve their financial objectives. As a student of all things finance, he has taken his keen interest in the markets along with nine years of adjunct teaching experience at local universities and worked to provide educational material and programs to his clients and their families, especially post-collegiate children and grandchildren as they work to develop an understanding of important financial and economic concepts.


As the President of Alpine Private Capital, Brett leads the strategic direction of the firm working closely with the Alpine team to ensure clients are well served with the best tools and technology and by top financial professionals. Brett honed his skills while serving clients at several prominent firms including U.S Trust, TIAA-CREF and Boatmen’s Trust Company.  Prior to the commencement of his professional career, Brett earned his BSBA with a double major in accounting and finance and later an MBA, both from Saint Louis University.  To further enhance his knowledge base and ability to serve investors, he returned to his studies earning the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designations.


Active in the community, Brett has served in numerous leadership positions at non-profit entities in the past 25 years and currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Advisory Board for the Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University, Chairman of the Daughters of Charity Foundation, member of the Committee for Trustees at De Smet Jesuit and member of the Community Engagement Committee for Villa Duchesne Oak Hill School.  He and his family are frequently involved in other service work throughout the St. Louis community.

Mike Stanton


Mike has been serving families and individual investors for over 19 years helping them to navigate the complexities of their wealth and enhancing their financial lives. Mike began his career with Morningstar and subsequently worked for other leading financial firms including Fidelity Investments, U.S. Trust and, most recently, J.P. Morgan Private Bank where he used his expertise as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to advocate for the financial needs of high and ultra-high net worth families and family offices throughout the country. Mike’s passion for finance and wealth management originated with his studies at the University of Illinois where he received his B.S. in Finance.


As Managing Director and Senior Wealth Management Advisor, Mike, an avid and constant consumer of financial data and information, is an ardent advocate for his clients at Alpine Private Capital working with them to protect their wealth while solving challenging financial, estate planning, and tax issues. A senior member of the Alpine team, Mike is closely involved with building out the firm’s planning services as well as leading Alpine’s family office efforts.


In the past, Mike was an active member of the Board at St. Joseph’s Institute for the Deaf and was a founding Board member of Make A Wish of Missouri Young Professionals. He currently serves on the Investment and Development Committees for Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis. Mike and his wife have three children and are active in their various athletic pursuits. When not serving his clients, Mike is often traveling for his daughter’s gymnastic events or attending his sons’ games.

Brian Yost


Brian has 20 years of experience in private banking and wealth management with Bank of America Private Bank where he worked directly with high net worth families. His responsibilities included leading the portfolio management team and serving as the local Chief Investment Officer. As a market leader, he also contributed in helping drive, lead and manage the strategic direction and growth of the St. Louis and Kansas City markets. Brian has a strong educational background, earning his BSBA with a double major in Accounting and Finance from Washington University and his MBA from St. Louis University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is a member of the CFA® Institute and CFA® Society of St. Louis.


Because people are interested in having quality of life and peace of mind, Brian believes it is vital for an Advisor to listen and understand the importance of what that means for each client. In order to design and implement a holistic financial plan, it’s imperative to have conversations around other “life” goals and desires. This is at the heart of how Brian serves his clients. As a Senior Wealth Advisor at Alpine Private Capital, Brian is able to fulfill his passion in building relationships and serving people. He advocates for his clients with advice and solutions that fit their best interest. Serving as a fiduciary allows Brian to truly work on his clients’ behalf as it relates to all areas of their life. In his role as a Managing Director, Brian works with other members of Alpine Private Capital in expanding services and strategies that are important for clients. The wealth management business is evolving and Brian’s contributions on direction and strategy will be key not only for clients today but also for the next generation of clients.


Brian is a lifetime resident of St. Louis where he resides with his wife, Rachel and four daughters. For over a decade, he coached youth soccer and headed up the soccer program at his daughters’ school. While Brian also enjoys playing soccer and tennis, fly-fishing is his biggest interest. He looks for any opportunity to find a stream to cast a line. Giving back is extremely important to Brian. He has served on numerous boards and committees and has volunteered at many organizations over the years. Today Brian’s focus and passion is supporting adoption and foster care organizations, missionary work in Haiti and serving at his church. Brian and his family have also served as interim care foster parents through Bethany Christian Services.

Brian Byrne


Brian has been advising individuals and businesses in the areas of finance, accounting, and risk management for over 20 years. Drawn to Alpine Private Capital by the firm’s investment principles, which align closely with his financial background, Brian believes listening is the first step to understanding each client’s unique situation and developing a strong partnership. From this foundation, he works with clients to create a detailed plan to identify and achieve their financial goals.


Prior to joining Alpine Private Capital, Brian counseled privately held businesses and high-net worth individuals on risk management as an insurance consultant with Assured Partners. Previously, as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and Stifel, Brian advised large corporations on a range of financing and merger & acquisition transactions. Brian began his career in public accounting at Deloitte and has attained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.


Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. On the personal side, Brian has been actively involved in organizations that improve educational outcomes for children in challenging circumstances. He served as President of the Board of Aim High – St. Louis, an educational program to empower motivated middle school students from high-risk environments. He also volunteered in the St. Louis Public School district as a mentor for Mentor St. Louis, tutoring 3rd grade students at Dunbar Elementary School. Outside of the office, Brian enjoys reading, travel, skiing, and cycling.


Meaghan McIntyre

Nothing is more evident in Meaghan’s work than her passion and focus for ensuring that Alpine’s clients are worry-free when it comes to the administration of their wealth.  As an Alpine veteran, having joined the firm in 2010, Meaghan has been a critical part of Alpine’s growth, including the substantial enhancement of client services in that time.


With a strong background in finance and wealth management from a career that began in 2001 working with clients at banks and wealth management departments, Meaghan has deep knowledge of financial services.  This knowledge has been invaluable as the primary liaison with Charles Schwab and Company, the principal custodian of Alpine clients’ assets – Meaghan is truly a Schwab expert always advocating for our clients.


As a Senior Private Client Associate, Meaghan coordinates services to ensure that all clients’ financial needs are met efficiently and effectively with minimal effort on their part.  Her responsibilities include client reporting, opening accounts, facilitating asset transfers, performing money movements, and anticipating any other client needs.


A graduate of Southern Illinois University with a BS in Business Administration, Meaghan continues to call Illinois home.  She and her husband have two wonderful children and while not chasing them around, Meaghan is active in their school and related activities.

Beth Thomas


Beth has spent nearly 25 years in the banking and wealth management industry passionately doing one thing to the best of her ability – exceeding her client’s expectations. Why? Because she understands that there are few things more important and personal in life than your finances. She credits her many years of next-level client experiences to teamwork and listening to understand each client’s needs. Beth is relentless when it comes to advocating for her clients. She never stops learning. Important aspects of her professional goals are innovation and problem solving. Her mission is accomplished when she’s able to anticipate her client’s needs by providing an experience they never knew they needed.


As Alpine Private Capital’s Client Manager, Beth brings her welcoming personality to each relationship she touches. You can find her collaborating with clients to implement their customized onboarding plan, no matter how complex. In addition, she’s dedicated to forming compassionate, lasting relationships with multi-generational families. Essential to this goal is Beth’s ability to build trust while providing comprehensive solutions for our client’s ever-changing lives.


Beth is a native St. Louisan and graduate of the University of Dayton. She met her husband Brad at UD and loves to spend time outside the office visiting their extended family in Maryland. She and Brad have three beautiful daughters and two rescue dogs. She enjoys volunteering at her parish church, supporting Alzheimer’s research and playing tennis. When not traveling to meet two of her three adult daughters, she loves traveling internationally.


Jeff Bjornson



Jeff has been an investment professional for over twenty years focused on client service and supporting firms and their clients using financial tools and technology to improve the client experience through more efficient and accurate reporting and operational processes. Jeff started his career with independent broker-dealers ProEquities Inc., 1st Global Capital Corp. and H.D. Vest Financial Services in Dallas, Texas where he used his expertise as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ to support the company’s financial advisors in creating wealth for families across the United States. Jeff earned his B.B.A. from Mississippi State University and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Business Data Analytics from Maryville University.


As the Vice President of Operations and Technology at Alpine Jeff uses technology and data analysis to drive a better client experience using the best tools and technology available. Applying his significant experience in wealth management and his expertise with the eMoney financial planning platform, Jeff also works as a liaison between advisors and clients to ensure clients’ needs are thoroughly analyzed and resolved.


Jeff has been a member of the Financial Services Institute (FSI), a professional services organization for financial services professionals, and served on FSI’s Due Diligence Committee. Jeff and his wife recently relocated from Dallas, Texas to the Chesterfield area. When not serving clients, Jeff enjoys exploring the many great hiking and scenic spots in the St. Louis area as well as attending concerts and sporting events.

Abby Allard


Abby is a Saint Louis area native and has been cultivating her passion for creating a seamless client experience since her graduation from Spring Hill College. Abby has pursued this passion in the wealth management industry by utilizing her experience in many different industries, platforms, and cities. During her time working for an investment firm and a law firm in New York City, she became accustomed ensuring that each client was given the highest level of privacy, personalized service, and proactive thinking.


Abby’s past experiences in the wealth management Industry make her an excellent addition to the team as Alpine Private Capital continues to grow. Her ability to communicate, commitment to furthering her abilities, and excitement for the industry allows her to deliver the seamless, worry-free experience that we want our clients to have.


When she’s not working to create the best experience for our clients, Abby is usually busy training in Forest Park for her next marathon, hanging with her dog, Goose, and helping to fundraise and support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.


Kris Cervera

For nearly three decades, Kris has been a financial professional dedicated to “getting it right” for the client. Her focus on diving into the operational intricacies of trading, investment performance, technology and money movement have been critical to accommodating investors and families in the management of their wealth. Kris also has the noteworthy distinction of being Alpine’s longest serving employee having joined the firm in 2001. During her tenure, she has been an integral part of the firm’s growth from $30mm to over $3 billion for the combined Alpine entity.



As Alpine Private Capital’s Operations and Client Engagement Consultant, Kris is involved in consulting on Alpine’s operational and technological infrastructure, ensuring that the firm’s systems are first class, utilizing the industry’s latest innovations and enhancements. Additionally, Kris consults with the firm’s Client Service Team working with our associates to deliver outstanding service results for our clients. Kris uses her substantial prior experience in the financial services industry in a consultative capacity to advise the firm’s management team on a variety of additional areas.



When not working to ensure Alpine’s clients have great service and the Alpine team has top technology tools, Kris is a committed Mother of two children and is active in her youngest daughter’s school.
